A U.S. clean-energy company that develops, owns, and operates commercial-scale solar arrays, energy storage, and electric-vehicle charging — with its rooftop and community solar projects powering businesses, public organizations, and homes. Founded in 2009 in Greenwich, Connecticut, by a finance duo and a solar-construction expert who borrowed a European investment model, it started as a private "friends and family" fund before becoming a public company in 2021. Its name comes from the Latin "altus," which fittingly means both "high" and "deep."
