Precigen Inc

A biopharmaceutical company in Germantown, Maryland, that develops gene and cell therapies for hard-to-treat diseases like cancer and autoimmune conditions. Its platforms include UltraCAR-T, a method of building CAR-T cell treatments in about a day, and AdenoVerse, which delivers immunotherapies using engineered viruses. Precigen began in 2019 as a subsidiary of the synthetic-biology firm Intrexon, and in 2020 the parent company shed its energy and agriculture businesses, renamed itself Precigen, and pivoted to focus purely on human health.
