A closed-end investment fund that lends money across private credit markets, aiming to generate income for investors by mixing direct lending, syndicated loans, and asset-backed finance. It began life in 2007 as a fund trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker VTA, but in 2021 it was reorganized into what's known as an "interval fund," which no longer trades daily on an exchange and instead lets investors cash out through quarterly repurchase offers.
