Isle of Capri Casinos Inc

A casino company that built its name on riverboat gambling, running casinos up and down the Mississippi and beyond before its properties were folded into Eldorado Resorts (later Caesars). Founder Bernie Goldstein, dubbed the "grandfather of riverboat gaming," launched some of America's first modern riverboat casinos in 1991. The company took its Mediterranean-sounding name from the glamorous Italian island of Capri, aiming to evoke its jet-set allure — even though its boats actually plied American rivers.
