A real estate investment trust that owns and develops offices, apartments, and retail properties across the Washington, D.C., region — including the National Landing district in Arlington, where Amazon placed its second headquarters. It was formed in 2017 when the privately held JBG Companies, run by the founding Grund family, merged with the D.C. portfolio of real estate giant Vornado. The "JBG" in its name comes from the initials of those original founding partners of the JBG Companies.
