A maker of network test, monitoring, and assurance equipment and optical security features, used by telecom operators and technicians to install and troubleshoot fiber-optic networks. Born in 2015 when JDS Uniphase split in two, Viavi took the test-and-measurement and optical security businesses while sibling Lumentum inherited the commercial laser lines. Its thin-film optical coatings create the shifting-color security features on banknotes around the world.
