Li Auto Inc.
A Chinese maker of premium family SUVs, Li Auto builds electric vehicles that pair an electric motor with a small gasoline engine that acts as a range extender, so drivers get long-distance range without charging anxiety. Its L-series models, like the six-seat Li L9 and the five-seat Li L7, are designed as "mobile homes" for multi-generational families. The company was founded in 2015 by Li Xiang, the entrepreneur behind the car portal Autohome, and was originally called Chehejia ("Car and Home") before rebranding. Its Chinese name, Lixiang, is a homonym for the founder's name and also means "ideal."
