Hunter Douglas NV

A Dutch company and one of the world's largest makers of window coverings, Hunter Douglas produces blinds and shades under brands like Duette, Silhouette, and Luminette, sold in homes and buildings across more than a hundred countries. It began in 1919 when Henry Sonnenberg founded a machinery business in Germany, and took its name in 1946 after teaming up with American Joe Hunter. Legend has it Sonnenberg disliked the sound of "Sonnenberg Hunter," so he picked "Douglas" from a phone book.
