A home-shopping retail company that sells everything from jewelry and clothes to kitchen gadgets over television and online, best known for its QVC and HSN shopping networks watched by viewers in their living rooms. Founded in 1986 by entrepreneur Joseph Segel, who had previously started the Franklin Mint, the business chose the name QVC to stand for Quality, Value, and Convenience. It later became part of Liberty Interactive, a media conglomerate spun off from Liberty Media, which also brought the Home Shopping Network under the same roof in 2017.
