Life Time runs a chain of upscale health clubs it calls "Athletic Country Clubs," offering pools, tennis and pickleball courts, fitness floors, and wellness services across the US and Canada. Iranian-born engineer Bahram Akradi founded it in 1992, aiming to build a resort-like place people would actually want to stay in, not just a quick workout spot. The company dropped "Fitness" from its name in 2017 to reflect its shift from a gym to a full lifestyle brand built around a "healthy way of life."
