William Lyon Homes
A homebuilder that designed and built single-family houses across the American West, from California to Texas, before being acquired by Taylor Morrison in 2020. It was founded in 1954 by William Lyon, a decorated U.S. Air Force pilot who launched his first company, Luxury Homes, to build housing for veterans returning from the Korean War. Lyon rose to the rank of Major General and served as Chief of the Air Force Reserve, earning him the nickname "The General" throughout the real estate world.
