M.d.c. Holdings, Inc.

A builder of single-family homes, M.D.C. Holdings sells its houses to everyday homebuyers through its main brand, Richmond American Homes. Founded in 1972 by Larry Mizel as the Mizel Development Corporation—hence the initials M.D.C.—the company later expanded across dozens of states. In 2024 it was acquired by the Japanese homebuilder Sekisui House, joining a global parent company.
