A maker of test and simulation systems that help engineers and manufacturers check how products hold up under real-world conditions, from car parts and aircraft structures to biomedical devices. Founded in 1966 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, the company's name stands for Material Test Systems. Its technology even powers the ride cars on the Indiana Jones attractions at Disneyland, and it built its first earthquake simulator in 1968.
