Ampco-Pittsburgh Corp
A maker of heavy-duty forged and cast steel rolls and engineered parts used by steel, aluminum, oil and gas, and plastics producers worldwide, sold largely through its Union Electric Steel unit. The company grew out of the 1970 merger of Screw & Bolt Corp. of America and Ampco Metal Co. — whose name came from "American Metal Products Company" — with roots tracing to Pittsburgh's steel heyday. The name "Ampco" is actually an acronym from those four words.
