The Mcclatchy Company
A publisher of local newspapers across the United States, McClatchy traces its roots to 1857, when Irish immigrant James McClatchy launched The Sacramento Bee during the California Gold Rush. The "Bee" name was chosen to stand for industry and hard work, and the company later grew a family of papers including The Fresno Bee and The Modesto Bee. Today it publishes dozens of daily newspapers and digital news sites across the country.
