Medidata Solutions Inc

A maker of cloud-based software that runs clinical trials for drug, biotech, and medical device companies. Its best-known product, Medidata Rave, lets researchers capture and manage patient data electronically instead of on paper, helping new treatments get tested and approved. Founded in 1999 in New York by Glen de Vries, Tarek Sherif, and Ed Ikeguchi, the name blends "medical" and "data" — and the trio had earlier built a web-app startup for trials called OceanTek. In 2019 the company was acquired by the French software firm Dassault Systèmes.
