Memorial Resource Development Corp.

An independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company, Memorial Resource Development Corp. was created in 2011 by the Dallas private-equity firm NGP Energy Capital Management to consolidate oil and gas properties in Louisiana, Texas, and the Rockies held across NGP's investment funds. It grew into a focused operator of the Terryville field in northern Louisiana before being acquired by Range Resources in 2016. The "Memorial" name was also shared by a sister company, Memorial Production Partners.
