Micro Focus International Plc
A British maker of enterprise software that keeps big organizations' older computer systems running smoothly alongside modern technology, often by updating classic COBOL programs. Founded in 1976 in Notting Hill, London, it took its name from its early focus on software for microcomputers and was the first company to win the Queen's Award for Industry for a software product. After merging with Hewlett Packard Enterprise's software business in 2017, it was bought by OpenText in 2023 and folded into that firm's wider portfolio.
