From time to time, the Company and its subsidiaries are the subject of various legal actions and claims arising in the ordinary course of their businesses. The most significant litigation facing the Company are cases seeking damages for alleged exposure to asbestos-contaminated talc products sold by the Company's subsidiary BMI Oldco Inc. (f/k/a Barretts Minerals Inc.) ("Oldco") and the talc-related Chapter 11 cases of Oldco and Barretts Ventures Texas LLC.
