Nam Tai Electronics Inc

A contract manufacturer that once built calculators, LCD modules, and radio-frequency components for mobile phones for major global brands. Founded in Hong Kong in 1975 by M.K. Koo as an electronics trading company, it moved its factories to Shenzhen, China, in 1980 and listed on the NASDAQ in 1988 before shifting to the New York Stock Exchange in 2003. In 2014 the company dropped electronics entirely, renamed itself Nam Tai Property Inc., and turned to developing land in Shenzhen — a name that, in Cantonese, roughly means "South" and "Great."
