A maker of cloud-based business software, NetSuite offers a single online platform that handles accounting, inventory, customer relationships, and e-commerce for companies of all sizes. Founded in 1998 by Evan Goldberg with backing from Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, it began life as NetLedger, a web-hosted accounting tool, before renaming itself NetSuite in 2003 as it grew into a full business suite. It is widely credited as the first cloud computing software company, and Oracle bought it in 2016.
