Newcastle Investment Corp

A real estate investment trust managed by an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group, Newcastle invested in real estate debt, mortgage servicing rights and senior housing while keeping no employees of its own, relying on Fortress for management. It was one of Fortress's "Castles," a family of similarly named investment vehicles. In 2013 it spun off its mortgage assets as New Residential and its newspaper business as New Media, then in 2016 renamed itself Drive Shack to become a golf-entertainment company.
