Founded in 1986 in Israel by a team of engineers and former intelligence officers, the company's name began as an acronym for Neptune Intelligent Computer Engineering. One early milestone: in 1995 it won a contract to supply voice-logging systems to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
