Northern Star Investment Corp. IV
A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC, formed in 2020 to raise money through an initial public offering and use it to buy an operating business — a "blank check" company with no products or customers of its own. It was created by SPAC veterans Jonathan Ledecky, a co-owner of the NHL's New York Islanders, and journalist Joanna Coles, and set its sights on direct-to-consumer and e-commerce brands. It was the fourth in a series of "Northern Star" investment vehicles, all sharing that same branding.
