A special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) — a 'blank check' firm with no business of its own — formed in Delaware in 2021 to raise money and merge with a private company. In early 2024 it merged with Honeycomb Battery Company and the combined firm was renamed Solidion Technology Inc., which develops battery materials and next-generation cells. As a SPAC, its whole purpose was to find a target to buy — and its chosen partner makes graphene-enabled silicon anode materials for batteries.
