Nuveen Floating Rate Income Opportunity Fund
A closed-end investment fund launched in 2004 by Nuveen to seek high current income by holding floating-rate loans and debt whose interest payments adjust with short-term benchmarks. It traces its roots to John Nuveen & Co., founded in 1898 in Chicago by a German immigrant who left the wholesale grocery business to underwrite municipal bonds for small Midwest towns. In 2023 it was folded into the larger Nuveen Floating Rate Income Fund, ending its life as a standalone ticker.
