The company began as a neurostimulation team inside the medical-components maker Greatbatch, then spun off on its own in 2016 with a name blending "new" and "vector" to signal a fresh approach. Its Algovita product name pairs the Greek word for pain (algos) with the Latin for life (vita), together suggesting "a life beyond pain."
