Oaktree Strategic Income Corporation
A business development company, Oaktree Strategic Income lent money to midsize businesses that struggled to borrow through traditional channels, offering first and second lien loans and unsecured debt. It was an investment vehicle run by Oaktree Capital Management, the firm Howard Marks and Bruce Karsh founded in 1995 after leaving the TCW Group. In March 2021 it merged into its sibling, Oaktree Specialty Lending, and ceased to exist on its own — a fitting end for a fund built to pool investors' money into one basket.
Common stock — Acquired by Oaktree Specialty Lending Corporation (OCSL) in 2023
