Officemax Inc.
A retailer of office supplies, technology, furniture, and business services, OfficeMax runs big discount "superstores" that stock a wide range of products for homes and workplaces. It was founded in 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio, by Michael Feuer and Bob Hurwitz, who named the company to signal a "maximum" selection of office goods. In 2013 it merged with rival Office Depot, becoming a brand under that umbrella, and its very first store opened in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, on July 5, 1988.
