Founded in 1995 in Silicon Valley by Shaw Hong and Datong Chen, the company helped make phone cameras practical by slashing the power that image sensors draw. Its name blends "omni" (all) with "vision," reflecting a mission to capture everything — and in 2019 it was acquired by Shanghai's Will Semiconductor.
