Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd

A precious-metals royalty and streaming company that finances mining operations instead of running mines itself: it gives mining companies upfront cash in exchange for a share of the gold and silver they later produce. It was born in 2014 as a spin-off after the original Osisko Mining Corporation was bought by Agnico Eagle and Yamana, with the founding team carrying on. The name comes from Lac Osisko in Quebec, where the region's historic Horne Mine was discovered — "osisko" is the Algonquin word for muskrat.
