A Chinese IT consulting and outsourcing firm that builds custom software, manages systems, and helps big companies modernize with data and cloud tools. Pactera was born in 2012 when two Beijing-based rivals, HiSoft and VanceInfo, merged into one company. Its name blends "pact," for that partnership, with "era," for a fresh start — and its Chinese name still carries a piece of each predecessor. It traces its roots back to 1995 and was later taken private by a Blackstone-led consortium.
