Paragon 28 Inc
A medical device company focused entirely on the foot and ankle, Paragon 28 makes surgical implants, instruments, and systems that orthopedic surgeons use to treat conditions from bunions to fractures. Founded in 2010 by three engineers who started the business in a Birmingham, Alabama basement, the company was acquired by the larger device maker Zimmer Biomet in 2025. Its name comes from the 28 bones in the human foot, with "paragon" chosen to signal its aim to be a model of excellence in the field.
