J. C. Penney Company, Inc.
One of the largest American department store chains, JCPenney sells clothing, shoes, home goods, jewelry, and beauty products for the whole family at stores across the United States and online. It began in 1902, when James Cash Penney opened his first shop in Kemmerer, Wyoming, and named it "The Golden Rule" after his belief in treating customers the way you'd want to be treated. The company was later renamed for its founder, whose initials live on in the familiar "JCPenney" logo.
