Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc

A maker of crop nutrients, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan mined potash and produced nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers that farmers worldwide use to boost food production. It was founded in 1975 as a provincial Crown corporation to manage Saskatchewan's potash industry, was privatized in the early 1990s, and in 2018 merged with Agrium to form Nutrien. Fun fact: the name "potash" comes from "pot ash"—early producers boiled wood ashes in pots to make the potassium-rich substance.
