Press Ganey Holdings Inc
A healthcare performance-improvement company, Press Ganey is best known for the patient-satisfaction surveys that most U.S. hospitals use to measure how their patients feel about their care, and it also tracks the experience of employees and physicians. It was founded in 1985 by two University of Notre Dame professors—medical anthropologist Irwin Press and sociologist Rod Ganey—who named the firm simply by joining their own surnames. The idea grew out of Press's consulting work, when hospitals kept asking him how to gauge patient satisfaction rigorously.
