A healthcare services company that arranges and manages non-emergency medical transportation, helping Medicaid recipients and others get to doctor visits, dialysis, and therapy when they have no ride of their own. It was founded in 1996 by Fletcher McCusker and two partners in Tucson, Arizona, who chose the name "Providence" to reflect their mission of supporting vulnerable people. A fun quirk: despite the name, it has no ties to the big Catholic Providence hospital system, and in 2021 it rebranded as ModivCare.
