Qlogic Corporation
A maker of high-speed networking gear, QLogic built the Fibre Channel adapters and switches that let data centers' servers talk to their storage systems, along with Ethernet and iSCSI adapters used by big enterprises. The company was born in 1992 when Emulex spun off its disk controller business, and the two rivals ended up headquartered in adjacent buildings in Costa Mesa, California, sharing a courtyard and training facilities. QLogic's products later lived on under Cavium, which bought the company in 2016.
