Quality Systems Inc.

A maker of software that runs the back office of doctors' and dentists' offices, Quality Systems Inc. builds practice-management and electronic medical-record systems sold under the NextGen Healthcare brand, used by clinics across the country. It began in 1973 when MIT-trained engineer Sheldon Razin started writing dental software at a desk in his California home, becoming one of the first to sell ready-to-use computer programs to dentists. The company kept its original Quality Systems name even as it grew into a major medical-software player, finally rebranding as NextGen Healthcare in 2018.
