It grew out of Liberty Media and took its "Qurate" name in 2018 from the word "curate," then rebranded as QVC Group in 2025. QVC was founded in 1986 by Joseph Segel, the man behind the Franklin Mint, and its initials stand for Quality, Value, and Convenience.
