Realty Income Corp
A real estate investment trust that buys freestanding commercial properties—such as stores, gas stations, and pharmacies—and leases them back to tenants on long-term net leases, where those tenants cover most operating costs. Founded in 1969 by Bill and Joan Clark, its very first purchase was a single Taco Bell restaurant in California bought directly from Taco Bell's founder. It pays dividends to shareholders every month, a rarity in its field that earned it the trademarked nickname "The Monthly Dividend Company."
