A San Diego biopharmaceutical company that developed medicines for immune and inflammatory diseases, most notably ozanimod, a drug aimed at conditions like multiple sclerosis and ulcerative colitis. It was born out of research at The Scripps Research Institute in the late 2000s, where scientists invented the drug that became its signature product. Its name comes from the biological term "receptor," reflecting its focus on drugs that target specific receptors in the body. In 2015 the company was acquired by Celgene.
