Rentech Inc

A Los Angeles energy-technology firm that spent its early years developing and licensing the Fischer-Tropsch process, which turns coal, natural gas, and biomass into clean synthetic diesel and jet fuel. Founded in 1981 by Charles Benham and Mark Bohn, its name is short for Renewable Energy Technology. It later pivoted into nitrogen fertilizer and wood fiber processing before winding down in 2017.
