Resolute Forest Products Inc
A Canadian forest-products maker that turns wood fiber into lumber, market pulp, newsprint, specialty papers, and tissue sold to customers in dozens of countries. It took shape in 2007 when two historic paper giants, Abitibi-Consolidated and Bowater, merged into AbitibiBowater; after a 2009 bankruptcy and restructuring, it rebranded in 2011. That name came from a company-wide contest — "Resolute" was picked from roughly 1,400 employee suggestions to signal strength and resolve. Paper Excellence's Domtar bought it in 2023.
