Retrophin Inc
A biopharmaceutical company that develops and sells medicines for rare kidney, liver, and metabolic diseases, including the kidney drug FILSPARI and the legacy products Thiola and Thiola EC. It was founded in 2011 by Martin Shkreli, who coined the name "Retrophin" as a mash-up of "replace dystrophin," reflecting its original goal of treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy. In 2020 the company rebranded as Travere Therapeutics to shed its association with its founder.
