Rockwell Collins Inc.
An avionics maker whose communication, navigation, and flight-management systems equip commercial, business, and military aircraft worldwide, including "glass cockpit" displays and autopilot gear. Its roots go back to 1933, when Arthur Collins founded the Collins Radio Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, whose radios aided NASA's Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. Rockwell International bought Collins in 1973, and in 2018 the business was folded into what is now Collins Aerospace under RTX.
