Ruth'S Hospitality Group Inc

A company behind the well-known Ruth's Chris Steak House chain, a family of upscale steak restaurants that serve sizzling prime steaks and seafood to diners in dozens of locations. Its story began in 1965, when single mother and chemistry graduate Ruth Fertel mortgaged her home to buy a small New Orleans restaurant called Chris Steak House. When a kitchen fire forced her to move in 1976, a contract kept the old name at the original building, so she simply tacked "Ruth's" in front — creating one of the most oddly memorable names in dining.
