Founded in 2004 by real estate professional Rani Kohen, who wanted to end the dangerous ladder-and-wires chore of installing ceiling lights, the company sells its products under the General Electric brand. Its "SkyPlug" name comes from bringing the familiar wall-outlet experience up to the ceiling.
