A precious-metals mining company headquartered in Denver, Colorado, SSR Mining digs gold, silver, copper, lead, and zinc from mines in the US and Canada, selling to refineries and smelters worldwide. Its roots go back to 1946, when it was founded as Silver Standard Mines Limited, renaming itself SSR Mining in 2017 as gold took over its portfolio. Its Nevada Marigold mine, opened in 1989 with an expected life of just eight years, is still running and passed its five-millionth ounce of gold in 2024.
