Sap SE
A German software giant that builds the enterprise programs businesses use to run their daily operations — managing everything from finance and payroll to supply chains and sales in one system. Five former IBM engineers founded it in 1972 in Weinheim, Germany, and the name SAP originally stood for "Systemanalyse Programmentwicklung" (System Analysis and Program Development), though it later came to mean "Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing." Today the company is legally known as SAP SE, where SE marks it as a European public company.
